A great sequel

The sequel to “Winter Seedlings” is just as moving as the first part of the series. The book picks up many years after the first part ended and continues to explore similar issues of domestic and sexual abuse or misinterpretation of religion. But it is more than a story of abuse: it is also about finding one's way out of it. It was especially engaging for me to observe one of the main character's journey as she broke free and started, step by step, to look for her own identity after years of isolation. One more thing that I like about this novel is a changing narrator – it give a good insight into all relevant characters' perspectives.
