Really good surreal story

The story was grotesque and surreal just as the author’s short story “Christmas with the Elephant”. I liked the fact that the author seems to have her unique style of writing – for the second time she’s talking about the people’s problems and inner struggles by using symbols and metaphors, by creating a dreamy and nightmarish atmosphere. The character of the main heroine is portrayed convincingly as a lost and paranoid drug addict but still headstrong and resolute. I liked the fact that the story is told only from the perspective of the main character, from her inner point of view. Her introspections based on hallucinations and delusions strengthen the atmosphere of paranoia, sadness and loneliness. I recommend this novella to anyone who likes surrealistic stories.
