Something special from Ned Hayes

I am still reading this book (mostly in the underground while traveling to work) but I already know I really like it. It's a unique story that is based on a few facts from a forgotten history of few simple people. At the beginning I thought that it's a little bit rushed and is not building solid background for the rest of the tale. However it surprised me with a little character twist, which I has not noticed at the begging and kept me reading and is getting more interesting with every new fact about Mear's life.
